What We Believe |
|||
|
The Bible: We believe that God moved Holy
men to write both the Old and the New Testaments of the Bible and in
their original languages is without error and without mistakes in its
entirety, including the content, word selection and word order. We
believe the King James Version is the best English translation of the
original texts. God: We believe that God exists in three distinct
persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit but has
never and can never function separate from the other. We believe that God
has always existed, that He knows everything, is powerful enough to do
anything and that there is nowhere in this life we can go that He is not
there. Man: We believe that God created man by a direct
act on the sixth day of creation, that man was made in the image of God
but sinned and cursed all mankind with a nature to do bad instead of
good, and that man’s soul will live somewhere forever. Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus is God in
human flesh, was born of a virgin, identified Himself as the Son of God,
shed His blood and died on the cross in our place to make all who believe
acceptable to God, the resurrection of His body from the tomb, and His
complete and absolute power to save men from sin. The
Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit is God, is a Person and not a force, is
the Person of the Godhead that draws men to God for salvation, is the
Person that permanently lives in every believer for the purpose of
guiding and teaching them more about Jesus Christ and not Himself and the
Person that molds believers in Christ’s image. The Church: We believe the local Church to
be God’s agent for evangelization in this age, and are made up of persons
who are saved and baptized by immersion; the two ordinances of the local
Church are water baptism and communion.
